On the subject of the host broadcaster graphics BTW, I meant to ask: since when did the term for the bench become "Reserves"? It was "Replacements" up till recently though more recently seems to have become "Substitutes".

Probably a southern hemisphere thing. They do insist on calling fly-halves "five-eighths" or some similar rubbish.

They're "out-halves" in Ireland, oddly enough!

Disappointing to see UTV did nothing for the Rugby World Cup when STV and ITV Wales did. Even though the latter is owned by ITV plc. Although there is no shortage of Irish broadcasters covering the tournament anyway, whereas in Scotland and Wales STV and ITV Wales are the only domestic broadcasters with the rights.

It's disappointing considering the effort that UTV went to for the last Rugby World Cup, special studio, own opening titles, special idents, changes to the schedule etc.

I notice ITV1+1 doesn't seem to have the usual DOG on it during the rugby. Usually sitting top left of the safe area frame, during football matches it appears on the top right of the frame. Now the Rugby World Cup logo is sitting there and is big and bright enough to effectively obscure it, if it's there at all in that part of the frame.
