I TiVod this one on a season pass, but sadly by about 20 minutes in I found myself hitting the delete button and removing future recordings.

I have no problem with the format, but they just seemed to be trying too hard to be amusing, and unfortunately in most cases failing.

This was rubbish, worse than HIGNFY which takes some beating

And why is HIGNFY rubbish? In my eyes it is far better and funnier than any of the tediously repetitve sketch shows or surreal "comedy" shows that the BBC has churned out of late.

It is possible to do more than a catchphrase based comedy - Mitchell and Webb shows that last year -.

"Oh and that's a bad miss" You really think Mitchell & Webb didn't spawn catchpharses? 2 come to mind ... oh and "That's Numberwang!"

To be honest, I've gone off Mitchell and Webb since they both did the Apple adverts. Total lies.

Yes, but not all of it is catchphrases. They do have non-recurring sketches as well. The one in the surgery with David Mitchell's chiropractor was clever, as was the behind-the-scenes one where they discover everything they say is scripted.

Quite the majority of the sketches were one-offs such as those above; others with reoccurring characters didn't always rely on catchphrases.
