Well today saw the start of Channel Televisions Christmas idents and they aren't bad at all.
I'm afraid I still don't have a TV Card so here goes.
It is the normal Channel Television ident a globe with the Channel Islands only with a gold hand drawn heart around it with Channel in large gold lettering beneath. ITV genric hearts spinning in the background.
Christmas version adds falling snow and the ITV1 Christmas eskimo bungey jumping and bouncing on the L at the end of Channel lettering holding a silver star.
All together it looks really nice adopting the genric ITV1 Christmas theme but still retaining the individual Channel Television corporate look.
The nice thing is that Channel seem to be showing the ident on a regualr basis. Usually they just start the following programme with no ident at all.
Any futrther additions I will post them.

Sounds good i`ll have to watch out for it tommorrow. I wonder if other regions will adapt a similar theme to this?

I'll be watching on Sky tomorrow then!
I was gonna say, Channel have somehing against idents - I've only ever seen Channel's ident once since ITV1 coming on Sky!

ITV Channel Islands
I know James for some reason they go straight into a programme from an ITV1 trailer and no ident.
I think it may be something to do with receiving the ITV network from Meridian and then putting local adverts in as well they probably run out of time !.

UTV do this too and Border used to quite often (prior to moving to Leeds) and even YTV did it today! It seems to be the stations which use the least continuity (ie the most regional ones nowadays)
When will BBC Ones christmas idents be unveiled? Or are they already being used? I have to confess I have not seen any BBC One Idents for days now, that's why I ask!!

I predict, Friday Night at 7pm...?
ITV1 Yorkshire hopefully shortly too, or else TV Forumer's should start a demonstration outside Yorkshire Television Studios on Kirkstall Road!
No ident before programmes is a harkback to old ITV practices. And with small stations old habits die hard (witness the hand-written VT clock on Tyne Tees tonight -- see the YTV fun and games thread for more details!).
Tyne Tees used to do that all the time -- or a lot of the time just flash up a static (and I mean static, no animation whatsoever) TTTV logo which was kept up for a second then faded into the programme a la the 80's Granada/Border ident.
YTV did it for a while a couple of years back before the news, although the one tonight was most likely due to the football overrunning.
Mind you, the times I've seen Channel they do generally show the ident -- in the evenings anyway!
And the Channel Christmas ident is cute -- and so is the UTV one. Come on you other ITV stations, get your finger out!!!
BTW I saw an ITV1 generic trailer which had the usual graphics at the end with an eskimo added. I do hope that isn't the extent of the ITV1 christmas trailer graphics this year -- that was a ****
-poor effort. Scottish had the same sort of thing with theirs. Only UTV seems to have made an effort with trailers so far!

Yes I saw a trailer like that (bearing in mind, we are both watching the same ITV region;) it was probably at exactly the same time)
It did look quite poor.
and, everyone thought those 'blue wavy lines' would only be used during August until the September new season began!
