It's been 3 years (the usual lifetime of an RTE pres package) since the idents & pres on RTE2 and the style of Nuacht TG4 have been updated. Does this mean they'll be revamped later this year? Nuacht TG4 looks really out of date now. RTE2 isn't too bad though.

To be precise, 3 years is about how long an RTÉ ONE package lasts for. Historically, RTÉ Two (/Network 2 / N2) packages have lasted far longer, the biggest example being the 1988 Network 2 classic ident which lasted seven years (they changed the soundtrack at least twice though). The 1997 N2 idents lasted about five years and the original RTÉ 2 idents lasted eight years.

There were two other shorter packages, both corporate looks for RTÉ (in 1986 and 1995) which didn't last very long on RTÉ Two.

Just noticed a competition on the RTE2 website asking people what they'd do in the "Green Room", so I guess not.

Still, NTG4 usually revamp every few years. I don't think a lot of people will notice though...

hasn't TG4 only been going for about 10 years?

Yep, their "Nuacht" (News) has been revamped every three years since 2001 though.

I like RTE TWO's look it's quirky and stands out for me personally, but as hardly anyone I know watches TG4, a new look wont change anything, may I point out I am fluent at Irish so just because you can speak a language it dosent mean you have to be dedicated to watching that languages channel, is this making any sense? TG4 thinks all Irish speaking people should watch Irish tv if they can speak it but for me and for many other people Irish was forced upon them in school, I hate Irish personally and to describeit to anyone it is like Yoda out of Star Wars speaking and has so many rules, tenses and connotations its very hard to learn and as im 17 and I fully know what people my age think about it I think after National School we should choose whether or not we want to speak it just like any other langusge in the Secondary School system, I wouldn't want to loose Irish as a language forever and I agree with the Galetacht speaking areas that it is hard to conduct business as thay have to soeak in English as Irish is not a business language.
Another point, Irish teaching in primary schools is shocking, I left barely being able to speak a word after what 8 years? I only started really learning it in second year and by God it's bloody difficult in the Junior Cert never mind the leaving Cert,

Anyway im rambling so in short, Dont change anything
