I didn't see last night's show myself but apparently a member of the audience came up on to the set and confronted Pat Kenny face-to-face, shouting abuse. From what I've seen on RTE News, it looks as though the studio gallery switched to a slide of the programme's logo and cut sound to studio. Not sure whether or not RTE Presentation took over.
Only on RTÉ but good grief that really is beyond a joke. I suppose they can never be too sure what kind of raging lunatics they have in the audience but someone should have gone for him the minute he stood up and walked towards the set AND they should have cut to a break MUCH sooner than they did. Probably RTÉ's most embarassing moment to date I would imagine...I can see this one coming up on out-take shows for the next 50 years!
Really.. There is not enough security in studio audiences.. who remembers it happenening on BBC ONE, National Lottery Jet Set. I guy from "Fathers 4 Justice" running on set with a flare, and now on RTÉ The Late Late Show. There needs to be proper audience control.
when i went to record a Welsh kids programme called "Crafwr" there was no security in the audience, we could sneak around set and.. well cause havoc, or even just run over the set, which i doubt will happen because we were all 12 at the time.Has anyone on this forum..(sure there is) ever been in the audience or even on a TV show and what was security like there?

Not forgetting the feminists who raided the Six O'Clock News on BBC1 in the late 1980s.
what he said was on the tips of the tongues of everyone in Ireland everyone secretly hates him his smug smile and his show oh well its the L8 L8 Toy Show next week so we will get even more patronising crap outa his mouth

In an ideal world of course they *should* have, but it takes time for anyone to assess what is happening and act. This is especially true for those in the gallery.
Compared with some other similar events they were quite quick

No, it needs to be funny to make an out-takes show!
