Absolutely wonderful - 10/10. Very upsetting...but great laughs all the way through! I liked the use of music and the sketch-like quality of the special Very Happy .

Well what did you think?

For me - some funny bits, some sad bits - but I admit on the whole I was really disappointed.

Disappointed!! Why what were you expecting to see Nana and Twiggy having sex?

I really enjoyed, great laughs mainly at the beginning and some very emotional scenes. Think though it should have went out xmas day.

Did it have a Granada endcap ?

Odd that on-screen they don't show the ITV name, yet it's emblazoned on the front of the DVD cover.

On the whole it was pretty good - but it felt like an entire series cut into one hour. Sue Johnson was brilliant though - and it actually touched on an important issue not covered on TV that much!

However, all the cutting between scenes was a bit annoying - seems like they put a few in which could be taken out for adverts! And as it was a one-off, they should have let the credits run clean!

I might be wrong here, but weren't episodes in the original series generally pretty much in real time too - just dropping in for half an hour with the Royles. The hospital scene tonight might have also been the first scene actually outside of the Royle house too.

If Liz Smith doesn't win an award for her performance in this episode, there's something not right at all!

It was good but obviously different to the old episodes as it was used to wrap up the series

So there were lots of different scenes rather than one long scene like we used to have, and then even a scene outside of the house

There was a bit too much music though. Pitty we didn't see Darren or Emma

Some of the situations are so true to life. I always wonder what the popularity of this series is in more 'home counties' style regions

Just my opinion. There was some great comedy, some tear jerking moments and Liz Smith was fantastic, but for me after all the hype it was just disappointing.

As I said just my opinion.

I would normally say "Its only a joke" but in this case i wont. But i dont understand how you can say there was some great comedy, tear jearking ect then say it was dissapointing, it just seems to be a bit hipercritcal.

But as you say my dear, everyone entitled to their own opinion.

Edit : Now i look hipercritcal because of what i said to Brekkie about opinions - best thing to do is ignore me Laughing

I enjoyed it - it was quite a nice way to rap up. Hopefully we'll see another one off in another 7 years time.

Sad to see Nana go - you could tell at the beginning when she was in her bed she would. Funny ending though.

I think Emma and Anthony have split up because I heard Barbara say "How's it going with Sarah" to Anthony just before the money-borrowing scene.

Also who was the THIRD kid under the table at the end? I initially thought it was Twiggy's son Lee but at the end the credits said "Callum".
