No it wouldn't have been on C5.
It has been reported that ITV's £1Million was less than Skys and C4 bid...but they went with ITV as it would attract more eyeballs.
Channel 4 paying for a royal exclusive would have been really weird.
Why?
I dunno, just because I think of them as the 'anti-establishment' channel. E.g. Alternative Christmas Message and C4 News' tendency to relegate royal news to in brief items that other bulletins would treat as bigger news items. I just wouldn't have even contemplated something like this being on C4.

I don't think it would have looked entirely out of place sandwiched between Changing Rooms and Bake Off. Not sure when you last watched Channel 4 but they've had their share of Royal Family documentaries.

I get it but it's been a hell of a long time since Channel 4 was that kind of truly anti establishment channel. They have excellent shows but it's largely mainstream nowadays.
I'll bet a tenner we get the following...
Meghan and Harry : Their Truth
Meghan and Harry : Crisis At The Palace
Oprah - Where Did It All Go Right?
A History of Royals and Racism
Silence or Silenced? The Story of THAT Interview
Sitting down with Oprah - Sarah and Meghan
I mean, the one that was on Saturday already used footage from it. "Harry & Meghan vs The Monarchy"

Pretty impressive ratings, I would say.
And, in a complainy day, the Daily Mail has written to Viacom over "indefensible" use of "contained images which had been doctored or presented as headlines when they were not" to suggest racist coverage.
