One wonders how many of these questions are Oprah’s own, and how many are planted?

Either way, what’s coming out is quite possibly some explosive stuff.

The Witchells and Ships and Jennie Bonds of this world are in for a busy day ahead. The Palace won’t like this. At all.

Editorially, the story is already the top story in all news outlets I’ve seen this morning (6am here/2am London).

Going by Twitter, the British contingent watching this in the UK are watching using some form of IPTV. I'd expect tv newsrooms however to be watching via satellite.

Oprah to my surprise has been journalistic in her questions to both subjects. From what I've seen so far, ITV have been shrewd in acquiring the UK rights to this interview. It'll be remembered as much as the BBC1 interview with Princess Diana from 1995.

I thought all these sort of things would be via fibre nowadays not satellite. I wonder if something seemingly this restricted until transmission would be already with ITV (a file transfer) or will they do this today or do they have to record down the line? Anyone know ?

It’ll be a file transfer unless something goes very badly wrong. Given the sensitivity it might have been held back until it had finished airing in the US. Did the clips on GMB have the CBS DOG on them? (Although their own straps might have covered that.) That might give an indication as to whether ITV had it ahead of the US broadcast.

The UK broadcasters will have arranged with one of their US bureaus to feed CBS (just normally received as anyone would via terrestrial / cable) down one of their existing fibre paths, allowing them to record it for editing and to allow their staff to view the interview as it went out / ahead of the ITV showing.

Notice the incredibly specific copyright notice that is required for using any clips - including promoting the ITV broadcast. There will also be a limit on the amount of footage, the number of times it can be used and for how long.

Indeed, and from the little I've seen it's unusually not just on a caption but read out verbally by the newsreader as well.

Oprah is on CBS This Morning later with more clips.

The BBC will have been able to get a feed of the programme as their US news partner is CBS. The BBC News website live-blogged the interview as it went out

What do you mean planted? I wouldn't have thought they're all her own questions, there'll be several people writing and helping her prepare. Of course a lot of the follow up questions will be hers, they can't all be prepared for.

Her interviewing seems to have gone down well, one example:

Maybe my wrong choice of words, Inspector.

By ‘planted’ I meant ‘provided by the Sussexes’.

I notice that the rights holders are being very finicky about the credits being used on clips, everywhere (print/online/broadcast) seems to be saying "ITV at 9pm tonight and on ITV Hub, courtesy of Harpo Productions/CBS" to the letter.

ITV clips I’ve seen so far this morning have had the CBS logo down the bottom right.
