NBC is airing Royal Ascot for the 1st time. Probably to feed off the Royal Weddings and Royal baby craze of the last few years. Well especially the connect the US and UK has with the last Royal Wedding. The first 30 mins was introduced by a British commentator for NBC and Dylan Dyer from NBC TODAY. To give the 'novice" perspective.

Then just before the first race started they introduced ITV as a British tv channel that will be providing commentary and other aspects of the race and they basically dipped right into ITV coverage using their graphics and everything. The first they crashed into was an Irish man explaining the betting stakes. Interesting to see NBC do this. Never seen that before. During the NBC commented portion they had the NBC Sport bar at the bottom of the screen but as the race commenced this was dropped. But reappears after the race. Slightly cutting off the ITV graphics at the bottom. The NBC logo is in the upper right corner of the screen "in full strength" and not ghosted. If that makes sense. The ITV logo appears when they show an aston or of course the mic flags and the big wipe in the transitions.

It’s slightly similar to TV3 - but they take the ITV Racing programme lock stock and barrel, the only differences being that they have different opening titles and music and, at first, the ITV DOG during races was missing (with the green square behind it still there) though it is there now, or was last time I checked

This is part of a multi-year deal which NBCUniversal signed in 2016. I believe Royal Ascot aired on NBCSN last year but this must be the first time its aired on a major broadcast network in the US.

Ex Channel 4 and still Racing UK's Nick Luck (Aka Lord Snooty) was the presenter last year.
Guessing he may well be again this year...

Nick Luck was the presenter. NBC didn their own bits between the races and handed it back to ITV just before each race started.
