BBC News: Roy Hudd, actor and comic, dies aged 83

Quote:

Roy Hudd, who hosted BBC Radio 2's The News Huddlines for 26 years and
also starred in Coronation Street, has died at the age of 83.

In a statement, his agent said: "We are sad to announce the passing of the
much-loved and amazingly talented Roy Hudd OBE.

"After a short illness, Roy passed away peacefully on Sunday 15 March,
with his wife Debbie at his side."

Another legend gone ... RIP.

It is a shame that his death will probably be totally ignored by the main news outlets in the face of the coronavirus news. Such a nice gentleman. RIP - I hope he is in a more peaceful place than the rest of us are living in now.

He was that increasingly rare style of comedian in that he didn't have to swear or use sexist, racist or homophobic language to get a laugh.

Sorry which current popular comedians are using racist and homophobic language to get a laugh?

Sounds like comedians of the 70s, not the comedians of today.
