".....In a packed programme tonight we will be talking to an out-of-work contortionist who says he can no longer make ends meet....."

Was really really saddened to hear this today. He truly was a fantastic man and I was a massive fan. I grew up with The Two Ronnies, Porridge and Open All Hours and never get tired of laughing at them.

How sad it is that all the great (well in my opinion anyway) comedians seem to be leaving us.

RIP Ronnie - you'll be missed greatly. x

The schedules have just been changed, and tonight's episode of Drama Connections, due to air at 10:35pm, has been dropped in order to show a Ronnie Barker Tribute... but can one really sum up Ronnie's life in just half an hour?

I imagine a pre-prepared obit programme will be shown.

My personal tribute
Ronnie Barker has been part of my family's television life since I was born. My grandad, cousin and brother loved Open All Hours, my father and me Porridge. We all loved the Two Ronnies. It's barely believable that only a few short months ago he was on our screens in the Sketchbook. It is sad news, the passing of a legend...and that word is never more applicable than when describing Ronnie B. All television comedy fans will all miss him and I think that entertainment has lost one of its greatest ambassadors.

Porridge is one of my fave sitcoms
I am both shocked and stunned

So many great people leaving us this year! Regards to all his family and friends.

My thought exactly... My parents were and still are big fans of him. May he rest in peace.

Heard it on the local radio before. One of few shocks I got from the hearing of a death of a celebrity. I say celebrity.... one of britain's best comedy icons.

You'll be missed, Ronnie Barker. RIP.

F.U.N.E.X?

I've been saying that to myself all day.

Was shocked to hear of his passing. Thoughts go out to his close friends such as Ronnie Corbett and David Jason at this time, and of course his family.

All the best to Ronnie..he was a true legend.

Girlfriend texted me about it this morning. Bit of a shock. Mind you he's been looking particularly gaunt recently I've thought.

They recorded a Christmas Special of the The Two Ronnies Sketchbook a couple of months ago - I saw the set in one of the studios at TVC. I gather they're hoping to go ahead with showing it.
