Just been watching the latest Matt Alwright vehicle... and there's secret filming in the kitchens done by one of their undercover 'cooks'.

They've been damning this restaurant because chicken dropped on the floor was then put in the oven, and coleslaw was being transferred from container to server without using a spoon. But in BOTH of these specific cases it was the guy with the hidden camera doing the work... moving the coleslaw or dropping the chicken!

Doesn't that completely undermine the validity?

I didn't see all of it but wasn't it just trying to highlight the supervision rather than the issue then?

Not really. It was clear that these were purposeful accidents that were done because he was a new employee. Everytime he done something he asked someoine what he should do.

So even though technically he was at fault, it was the other employees who were at fault by saying 'cook it anyway'.

Yeah you might be right. That's why I asked...

Got to say though to me it felt a bit like entrapment. If these places are so bad to justify a show, surely it should be more than bad supervision. (Especially for the first show!)

I enjoyed this programme and never thought about accidents being staged until it was mentioned here. Having said that it was the people in charge who were really at fault as they just said 'use it' or 'it's okay I'm not eating it.' The people in the restaurants showed scant regard for hygiene and helped to trap themselves.

And on a sidenote it doesn't hurt to look at Anita Rani!! Very Happy
