Rockford Files

This saturday the Rockford Files will be on BBC 2 and ITV1 at the same time. How can this be? Do they have the rights to different series, or are the rights non exclusive?

Similarily ITV1 repeated Sherlock Holmes last week, episodes which were repeated on BBC2 last year, and which also showed on ITV 2 or 3 (cant remember which) at the same time. Any explaination?

Would YOU buy exclusive rights to The Rockford Files? That said they've been sporadically in that slot on BBC TWO for months so I really don't understand what ITV are playing at.

I pointed this out a few weeks ago in a thread about programmes that have moved channels. Until the Paul O'Grady farce recently, this must be a rare thing (for the 5 terrestrial channels)?
