[Mod Edit] Totally worth a new thread!

Didn't feel it was worth its own thread, but... (how wrong was I?)

All we need now is The Simpsons and The Fresh Prince.

Guess it'll probably end up in the Top Gear slot.

Craig Charles is up for hosting it but is yet to be told anything.

Seeming as the way the new Top Gear is apparently going, I wonder if Chris Evans has anything to do with bringing it back?

I wonder if some of the 'legends' of the first run will make appearances, such as Razer and Chaos 2.

As far as I've heard Chaos 2 hasn't been in running condition for years (although possibly is still good for static displays?) and Razer is being utilised similarly. Having said Ian Lewis and Simon Scott from the Razer team did bring Warhead (their other robot, used in the US series Battlebots) back for the rebooted Battlebots last year so there's a good chance they'd want to be involved.

What is interesting, having had a glance at the forum where the roboteers hang out (the Fighting Robots' Association) this seems to have taken them all by surprise and they were not consulted by the BBC or Mentorn before the announcement. It will be interesting to see how this affects the live shows they put on, using Robot Wars branding which they licensed 3 years ago. As they will be unconnected to Mentorn or the BBC.

I think Hypnodisc is still in operation.

As you probably know, hypnodisc was made by two twins (dave and derek) and their father (Ken). I am one of the sons of the twins.

Dave and Derek run their own engineering company now! Hypnodisc is actually scattered everywhere, we are actually thinking of making mini hypnodisc museum in one of the rooms of their massive workshop, if anything happened i'd post it in /r/robotwars!

Myself, Dave and Derek now fly quadcopters but my grandad (ken) is getting close to 90 years old so his reactions aren't the best to fly but he is always in his own workshop (where hypnodisc was born) and climbing up ladders to unclog the chimney.

Another post somewhere else says the robot was retired when the TV show was cancelled.
