News reports coming in from America reporting the death of Robin Williams at the age of 63. Such a shame...

Apparently it was suicide by asphyxiation. He must have been in a really dark place and I remember reading somewhere that he was also suffering from depression.

Absolutely shocking news, I genuinely can't believe it. The cause of death is even more awful.

I recall reading something about him going into rehab recently. Horrible shame. There was nobody and probably will never be anybody like him.

It's quite eerie; the last Family Guy episode shown on BBC Three just now featured Robin Williams heavily ("Family Guy Viewer Mail #2").

He is a real loss; it's always a shame, and a real shock, for someone to go this way too.

And the usual social media mix up has begun, are people really that stupid in that they get Robin Williams and Robbie Williams mixed up...

Wow, wow; apart from all the movies he did, the last thing I saw with him in was a Whose Line is It Anyway US episode, from years ago.

He was still doing Stand up, and US telly talk show. Their were also plans for a Mrs Doubtfire 2 film.

Just had a look back on iPlayer of BBC News, they were just ending Sportsday, and then 'The film star...' appeared on the ticker before it was removed for the weather.

I wonder if the BBC will scrap Newsday for a double header at 1am to report on this or keep to the schedule as normal...

Another actor to go so young.

As someone who's been treated for depression myself (and I'm not afraid to hide that fact, even on here) I know first hand how it can grip you, especially if you're male and feel you can't talk about it.

Sadly suicide rates among men are at one of the highest rates they have ever been worldwide and it's sad little is done to raise awareness and help those to open up.

Anyway, I'm digressing. RIP Robin.
