Correct me if I'm wrong but UTV would have no say in whether Airline was shown or not, seeing it's on the network feed, would they?

Unless they had their own separate copy of the tape, they're tied to ITV whether they like it or not!

Exactly - I think last Thursday was a case of Julian relaying information to the viewers about the short notice schedule change that was in place on all ITV regions. Just thought his personal manner of saying why Airline was cancelled was a wee bit patronising IMO.

Classic from Julian there now with regards to Sophie Anderton:

"Get that rehab unit on standby!"

Now then... Aidan Browne is on duty tonight, and in the past two junctions he has provided (useful) information on audio description for tonight's programmes.

What happened to "The Bill is on your screens in half an hour here on UTV, that's coming up after Coronation Street?" Did he ditch that with the 'tache? Smile

And again before "The Bill".

What will the link before "Love Island" be I wonder...

"Viewers with a brain may like to know that Love Island has a one-word four-letter verbal description... starts with an S and ends in a T."

Do UTV provide AD on satellite?

From the gist of it, Aidan implied that AD was available to digital viewers, not sure if he specifically implied if it was via DTT or DST.

I'd have thought if UTV began supplying AD either way that it would have been well publicised, and I haven't come across anything to suggest they had...

Well I'm watching on NTL Digital and I can only get AD on ITV1 London.

His AD information was rather confusing then!

Finally found out an answer to the Audio Description question. UTV only provide it on Freeview, not Sky and not NTL. And to top it all off, in their press release it says there is only one box on the market which provides Audio Description facilities!!

Notes to Editors:

Freeview:
There is only one set-top box currently on the market that can deliver Audio Description: the IPlayer Plus made by Netgem. This is only available from Netgem, either online at www.iplayer.co.uk or by calling their order line on tel 0800 015 3092.
