Very true, the others only seem to read out what the next three programmes are with a generic spiel about what the programmes are. It smacks of a lack of imagination or interest in UTV's schedule.
Even though Julian was on daytime duty yesterday, I found his "Well, due to today's events we felt it was inappropriate to show today's scheduled edition of Airline" was patronising.
While I understand he has another, more full-time profession to dedicate his time to, UTV most certainly underuse Robin Taylor. He is the only other announcer who doesn't mind doing IVC links, so it's always a shame that if he is on duty he isn't given a chance to do IVC.
I've just heard board favourite Julie O'Connor do the voice for the UTV Live update at 2000 - I wonder if Robin will be presenting the news and weather later this evening?

Julian used to be an air steward, but gave the job up a few years ago and as far as I know, spends his weekdays doing promotional stuff around the Province.
He also seems to pop up doing daytime continuity (usually IVC, but sometimes, like yesterday, out of vision) whenever needed - for example, in 2004, in the week when UTV shifted the 5.30 UTV Live to 1.00 to accommodate the 24 Hour Quiz, he was around to inform viewers of the schedule changes.
He was on daytime duty every day of that week - but then the following week, UTV dropped the 5.00 edition of the 24 Hour Quiz due to viewers complaining they missed UTV Live starting at 5.30 - so it went back to no daytime continuity at Havelock House.
