For me, RI:SE is currently little more than a pale imitation of it's predecessor that ran for 9 and a half years!

I saw it onMondayfor the first time in ages. I don't rate Kate that much as a presenter, but the new look is much better than the Durden-Smith days.

Is it just me that finds the set, titles and music a little dull. I know they have a bright green sofa, but everything else is wood, brick, glass or metal. The music has always been a wotsit for me; its a nice ambient piece of music; but is it really the music for a breakfast tv show aimed at young adults?

Why dont channel 4 trail their breakfast shows; why do they just give up? When the Big Breakfast was in its Johnny and Denise hey day they did trailers where they did a sketch that carried on from the show and said heres what hapened on this mornings show then shownt little bits of everything sped up with sped up theme music added.

They stopped trailing the big breakfast post 2001 relaunch; the bb actually did some of their own advertising with radio adverts.
They stopped advertising for RI:SE (mk 1) when they stopped doing big brother stuff. And I have never seen any advertising for this relaunch; the only things are when the hosts go onto other shows.

What I dont understand is why channel 4 axed the big breakfast. They said that along with viewing figures (that were slowly increasing) they felt that they needed a replacement that could deal with serious news stories since the bb was taken off air whilst sept 11th occured. So they went with RI:SE; and RI:SE mk1 could have dealt with serious news stories; but when the war happened this year they shunted RI:SE to make way for their news before it; so why replace the bb in the first place?

Rise has been like another programme in the Big Brother schedule for the last couple of months, and I'm sure that's where the viewers have come from. They may well loose quite a few now it's over.

Mel & Sue are the best thing to happen to the show for a while, and the sooner they come back the better. Kate Lawler is a bit bland, the bloke who's with her is good though, as it the Scottish guy who does one half of the TV review thing.

Our television systems seem to have a Design many Inferiority. The fact that those television, which can buy your people, propel you in the early morning into a Graveyard of the terrible breakfast programming with prepared famousnesses. If this Mrs. Kate a traveler is sex giver, their condition was conveyed and so interepreted. Is there a relationship of the high intensity, which will transfer in the television, enclosure the original creation of the sexual acts with van? If so, someone can manufacture a highway or possibly even a satellite distance, in order to experience such early erotic pleasures - particularly surprising, regarding the early morning television time, which accept this transmission. Fortunately for me, my brother at the work would see over our farm of the pigs mine Organrubbing would be, as, such a transmission observing.

Pros:

Ian Lee
Nobody wearing a suit at that early hour
You can smile before work
No Lorraine Kelly (or growler) Very Happy
No Eamonn Holmes Very Happy
Mel and Sue
Dougie Anderson

Cons:

Kate Lawler (Can't read an autocue and most of Ian Lee's comments go into orbit over her head)
Big Brother housemates every day
No trailers for RI:SE during the day
Not on long enough (I could easily have done without banal Vernon and comatose Sarpong and their jolly boy's outing)
Did I mention Kate Lawler? Very Happy
