For anyone interested, ONrequest (ONd PPV movies) will change to ITV Select following the rebrand.

So that's ITV Digital, ITV Active, ITV Select, ITV1, ITV2, ITV Sports Channel, ITV.com.

What a brand.

Still no sign of the rebrand in the shops, or anywhere else for that matter.

Still no sign of the rebrand in the shops,
Most shops have sent their boxes back to ONdigital, to receive ITV Digital branded ones, for Wednesday's relaunch. My site had a the first report of this happening back on 10/06/01.

So what if I wanted to buy ONd tomorrow, are there none in the shops ?

They're definately killing On digital off - according to the listings in ON7 magazine - it says on the Wednesday listings to store your new channels. Wave bye bye to On Sport and hello to ITV Sport Channel (which i think should be ITV Football Channel!). But surely this will only change the channels and all the menus will still say On Digital? They can't kill it off. On Digital will survive. By the way - think they are adding UK Style to the basic package. More trash to watch!!!

Well, UK Style is already available but it shares air time with UK Horizons, from next Wednesday, both go 24 hours. I think you'll find that the EPG, the menus etc will have to change. How can they have a rebrand to ITV Digital but keep the ONd graphics and logos that would only confuse people further. ONrequest, ONnet, ONview, ONsport are all to be rebranded.

Did I put Style? I meant UK Drama. too many UK Channels! Apparently UK Food is coming soon as well. What next? Oh hang on *reads small lettering*. Forget that - didn't see 'incurrs small fee to your package bit'.

Accoding to news reports, OnDigital is considering reviewing its free set top box offer. It says it needs to try and get back some of the money it has lost through the scheme.

I presume this means they will go on 'sale' again but not at £200, else everyone would get SkyDigital.

I think that is a reference to the Nokia Media Terminal set top boxes, these are the ones with the hard disk recorder inside and modem for ITV active. ONd will not be charging for the standard set-top box.

No, it was on Breakfast this morning.

They said that they are reviewing what to do with their free set top box offer, as is lost the company a lot of money even though the boxes are only on loan to the user.

BBC Breakfast were refering to the Nokia Media Terminal - http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/entertainment/new_media/newsid_1423000/1423945.stm

AFAIK, only shops with high ONdigital sales, still have boxes.

Apolgies my mistake. Breakfast didn't make it very clear!

The website does mention that there were rumours of OnDigital not to give STB's away any more so thats what Breakfast said. They did however say that they were only considering it and obviously since then OnDigital have said that they don't plan to end the offer.

I hope that makes sense. Smile

ITV Digital won't be carrying UK Food when it launches - they don't want competition for the Carlton/Sainsbury's channel Taste CFN.
