Ringtone?

At the risk of lowering the tone. Has anybody thought of composing a BBC News Ringtone, comeone we've got the wall paper, the screensaver and the sounds why not the ringtone!

There was a company (shown on Newsround I think) that would do you a ringtone for a price if you provided the sound either by VHS, CD, MP3 etc.. Sadly I can't find the company and/or their website.

Yes that would be great though you could get some strange looks from other people on the bus!

And what about one of those little logos for the screen, a Hugh Edwards answerphone, a BBC News clip on cover, a texting service in Gill Sans, A BBC continuity credit reminder : 'This is BBC Mobile now at 21.48 your call time credit.'

The list could go on....!

im not knocking it, its a great idea and i would love it on my phone (if i had a mobile)

yellphone.com do custom ones .... I've asked to see if they can do a BBC News one ... the one listed as BBC Breakfast News doesn't really sound like anything I remember!

I've tried a couple of times to compose a BBC News Ringtone, but the trouble is the tune has very few key-notes: it's mainly a theme on hourly pips, and that's extremely difficult to get as a tune. My attempt sounded more like the tune to 'Roobarb and Custard' than anything else!!
