Rik Waller - NOT Pop Idol!

Pop Idol Contestant Rik Waller has been forced to pull out of the competition due to a sore throat.
He will be replaced by Darius, who came third in the last show!

Well Real Verdict's source at Thames says that he may still be in the running if his voice is better by Friday.

I got my information from Waveguide. I believe my source is reliable.

Rumours.

If his throat isn't better by tomorrow, he won't appear on this weeks show but if he pulls out on next weeks show, then Darius will replace him in the competition.

Big Rik Waller has been told by doctors to stop singing - or risk losing his voice forever. A top Harley Street throat specialist told Rik that he has a serious throat infection and shouldn't sing in this week's show. Rik will drop out of this week's show and with any luck, return next week. Dubbed 'the Fat Bloke' in an email campaign, Rik won loads of fans for his fantastic voice and determination.
Last night Rik said 'I've only ever had one thing in my life - and that is my voice. I'm not going to risk losing it. I've had a sore throat for a fortnight and I've lost my voice. I realised I was in trouble on Thursday and told the production crew I would have to drop out completely. Fortunately, I've been given a week to rest my voice and I hope I'll be better to sing next week. I need to rest completely and get myself together for next week.'

He'll be back next week.

I think that Waveguide gets much of its news from other news websites, but Real Verdict has contacts at both Teddington and Thames Television.

It looks as if HE IS out this week, but the fact is at the time of writing, he still isn't officially out of the running.

Is Rik Waller the 'large' guy who was abused about his size/weight?* Coz if it is I feel sorry for the poor guy. At the end of the day it is his voice that earns him a place, not his weight.

* I have been following it in the papers, not on TV!
