Anyone catch this today.

It wasn't bad for a first show - more of a studio debate than just recorded reports, but worked pretty well.

The two main talking points were the use of young children in shows like Supernanny and Bringing up Baby and how TV portrays Muslims, most notably in Undercover Mosque and Britz.

There was also a round up of news from TV in general, plus details of what C4 programmes people are praising and complaining about. It was live too and included live callers and texts/e-mails on screen.

If it's going to be just once a month though I think it needs to be an hour long - and it needs a better slot than 4pm on a Saturday, even if it ended up on More4 rather than C4.

It seemed more like that old BBC1 show Biteback than Right To Reply in terms of style. Reminded me of my youth when I used to watch Krishnan on Open To Question.

Was it in 'The Wright Show' studio?

Looked similar layout!

I assume they aren't expecting many people to watch it

I expect on Saturday 1st December at 4pm people are slightly busy elsewhere than to watch Channel 4

Yeah - I think so. It's the only studio Princess Productions seem to have!

Nice nod to the original colours of the C4 logo in the animation. But why does it have a clock in the corner? It doesn't prove it's live, you know.

I watched it. I thought it was a rather pointless programme to be honest.

Hmm, saw this today. I don't think Krishnan is hard-hitting enough - everything discussed seems to be brushed over. He can't really encourage debate.

Also, on the topic of Big Brother - are those people (who also regularly appear in the Big Mouth crowd) actually BB superfans or friends of the production staff?

I don't know - but it pisses me off it's the same morons all the time.

The TV Show tonight was a bit too obvious really - with Right to Reply you never really knew what was going to be discussed and the obvious was often avoided.

I think the main problem at the minute is they've restricted themselves to just what C4 are doing - and of course to one 30-minute show a month.

Yeah although they showed a quick recap of what was shown over the Christmas period on other channels (i,e EastEnders) but no follow-up.

Hardly surprising - very few independent production companies own their own studios.

Princess bought and equipped their current studio for Rise Mk II (when they left Sky) and then used it for The Wright Stuff. It also services Something for the Weekend on BBC Two. Quite understandable that they use it as much as they can. Unfortunate that the parquet floor and lead-light windows are so distinctive though... (Very few people would be able to tell whether a show was in TC6 or TC8 in TV Centre by watching - but you can tell whether it is in the Princess studio or not)

Cactus also own the Richard and Judy studio in Wandsworth AIUI, but not many other indies do, and instead they use facilities houses like BBC Resources, The London Studios, The Hospital, Fountain, Teddingtong Studios, Maidstone Studios etc.
