I just hope they don't go for the obvious things and end up digging over the premium rate scandals once again.

There is only one further issue relating to that which I want to see covered - but no broadcaster seems to have the balls - and that's who is regulating the regulators and how on earth did these problems go on for so long amongst so many companies without the regulators intervening?

I think actually if it restricts itself to just C4 they'll end up with a pretty boring show.

I agree, it would not make a good alternative if they just focus on channel 4, with a name like Krishnan Guru-Murthy I expect it to be more heavyweight, though it isn't hard against Points of View in its current form.

As others have said, why not just bring back right to reply as it used to be, there was nothing wrong with it, though if I remember rightly didn't they change the appearance near the end of its run?

I'd prefer a forum style show with Charlie Brooker presenting (since he understands TV better than most), although he probably wouldn't have the confidence to interview people seriously.

Actually that's an interesting idea - I reckon he'd be quite good at the helm of such a show.

Come on Simon, you know times have changed in the last 10 years. Although satelitte was on the up at the end of the 90s, the choice of channel has really exploded since the word "digital" has become commonplace and the majority doesn't want to see a cosy 15 minute programme of letter reading during primetime. It would be suicide for any main channel.

But they can still allocate a billed slot for the lottery when most people have spent the last 13 years arguing that all is necessary is to show the draw!

Combine the Wednesday draw into POV and you have a captive audience.

That is a very good point.

why was right to reply given the boot?

Channel 4 binned it off from it's Saturday 6.30pm slot to a 7.30pm slot on Friday where it went head to head with Coronation Street, which really didn't help the ratings at all.

Good to see the format of the show coming back and I think Krishnan Guru Murphy could make a good host.

What would people recommend for a good slot for the programme? A sunday evening, an 8pm slot in the week? Or a Saturday evening?

I'd personally go for a sunday evening around 6:00, although I'm not sure what sort of audience it would get from T4. The only problem with a weekday slot is that it's only down for once a month (which is a shame in itself), so it would have to be in a slot that could be filled 3 weeks out of the month, very strange. As surely it would interupt a series every 4 weeks, will it not?

Isn't this an agreed response to 'Celebrity Big Brother Gate'?

I seem to remember reading something about this type of programme returning for viewer's responses to be heard promptly.

Without turning this into a fantasy schedule thread, I would have thought about 6.30/7.00pm on Saturday would be best, as it's the time of the week when Channel 4 doesn't really show any entertainment, as there's usually a documentary on or something like that.

I think showing it on More4 would benefit the programme aswell, such as Monday or Thursday at 10.00pm would suit well.

Interesting that they've given it to an indy this time. Right to Reply was one of the (if not the) only in-house production they made ISTR. (Production team worked for Channel Four and it used Channel Four's studio facilities)
