Please, Terry Wogan, Please...
Just the constant jokes about twice nightly will be reason enough to drop by for 45 mins...

Wogan unfortunately couldn't do it with his Radio Two committments.

A 'regular' dictionary corner guest who couldn't do it for the same reason but would be very good would be Ken Bruce.

I don't know, don't they record a week's worth of shows in one day? Therefore the guest presenter would only be required for a day.

The TOGMeister wouldn't even need to take the day off to present a couple of weeks worth of shows. He could even present his Radio Two show 'down the line' from Studio 1 at BBC Radio Leeds, just like Chris Moyles does on Radio One occasionally.

Possible I agree but likely I think not.

William G Stewart is bound to feature - he's presented Countdown specials on a few occassions.

Hopefully they'll be some continuity, not a different presenter every week.

IIRC Countdown episodes are recorded in blocks of 3 weeks over 3 days, so I think a 3 week stint would be appropriate.

Pure guesswork from the Mirror, based on the fact that Damian Eadie says it'll be people who've been on as G of the D before. So the Mirror simply lists a load of people who have.
