What does everyone think should happen to Countdown? A few people have said that it should be axed as a matter of respect, but i'm not so sure about that.

ITV News now breaking the story. Their source, Carol Vorderman's agent.

ITV News are breaking it now, getting their source from Carol Voderman's agent. News 24 also mentioned it, they seemed to be quite sad over it too.

This is such sad news, RIP Richard.

News 24 just put it in the middle of their bottom of the hour news summary, not flagging it up as breaking news, just treating it as yet another news story for some reason.

Have to say I'm disappointed with the reaction of the news channels. Is it just me or should this story be getting far more coverage than it currently is. Sky and News 24 have disappeared to some recorded programme, and the ITV News Channel have only just caught up and have an extremely inexperienced presenter who unfortunately doesn't seem up to this sort of story (a lot of five second gaps as she looked down at her computer screen). Of course if Yorkshire Television had any staff they would be able to help the network at this point.

Sky News are continuing with their schedule clamping documentary. I don't think they can even use their strap as the programme is full of subtitles.

"He was also known for his love of ties".

Hmm. I would've expected ITV news to refer to his broadcasting career a little at least -- perhaps because it occurred outside of London they didn't make themselves aware of it.

It merits something on Channel 4 really.

I'm not sure what, but an announcement or something.

They briefly flagged it as breaking news a few minutes earlier.

If anyone provides fitting coverage, it should be Calendar. Spotlight dedicated almost a whole edition to Jill Dando's death.
