I have set up a website of condolance for Richard, and I would like as many people to sign it as possible. The website is at www.goodbyerichard.tvheaven.com and on July 30th it will be presented to ITV Yorkshire Television.

Maybe... plus the fact that Nick has been in Dictionary Corner a few times, so must be a great friend of Richard's.

Ive just found this on my comp, I saw it on a website a couple of years ago and thought it was good so i saved it.
Spritely Whiteley
There once was a host, Richard Whiteley
Who for his age, still looked quite spritely
To tell you the truth, two things spare his youth
A young wife and getting it nightly

Yup, both times he's done Dictionary corner it has been within the last year or two and they've both got on really well.
I happened to catch the full Carol Vorderman interview on the ITV News Channel and it was very moving, she just reminded us how nice the man was, how well the show worked, how they'd always have a laugh together. Though the poor women was in tears I give it to her for keeping it going.
Shame they didn't show Calendar on the NC really, showing how much the man means to Television and to Yorkshire aswell.

Yesterday was the 18th Anniversary of the death of my Grandfather.
It is very tragic to hear of Richard's death, he seemed to be a great man and from what they said on Calendar tonight, he was the same off-screen as he was on.
You don't very often hear of presenters who are just as caring in reality as they appear on television, it is known that Richard was one of those very unique people who did care.
I hope that people across the country will remember Richard, a good man whom we should all look up to, if you are interested in politics and television like I am, he too seemed to combine the two.
God Bless you Richard, and we pray for his family and friends and all the other people who thought a lot about him. May they soon come to terms with the tragic loss. AMEN.
