I doubt it will be daily (and if it is it will be pre-recorded) what will it be called then? Richard and Judy: Now and Then?

Why don't you think it'll be daily or live? It could well be both.

Personally I think that R&J as the flagship show on a re-positioned (and renamed) UKTV Style is the mostly likely outcome

My initial thoughts were that maybe UKTV is launching its own general entertainment channel along the lines of Sky One, Virgin 1 and Living. I also wouldn't be suprised if it doesn't carry the UKTV branding following the success of Dave.

It wouldn't surprise me if a new UKTV channel (not UKTV branded) came to Freeview - perhaps if they took over one of the shopping channel slots.

But Richard and Judy don't really do 'general entertainment'.... do you remember that prime time ITV chat show they had?

UKTV said the primetime, daily, 60-minute show would be "high-octane"

Richard and Judy? High-octane? WHAT!?

Richard and Judy was always cosy and trundling, which made it slightly more palatable. The day Richard and Judy becomes high octane is the day Peter Sissons starts presenting Naked News .

Fear not, Madeley will probably wheel out the Ali G impression if things get desperate.

I doubt it, somehow. I'm not sure how it works, but I think shopping channels don't just "give up" slots without a fight.

Technically, Virgin Media Television owns both Price Drop TV and Bid TV, as they own Sit-Up, so if they really wanted to they could probably make it happen. You're right, though, I don't think it's likely. Not yet, anyway.

In a lock, stock and barrel move the production company, both presenters, the producers and their mighty Richard & Judy Book Club are being packed into crates at the end of August and moved to their new home on an, as yet, unspecified but re-branded UKTV channel.

After the success of Dave's (formerly UKTV G2) re-launch, presumably the new female-skewed channel will be called something like Nikki or Michelle. Coming next on Michelle ... Why not?

Surely Virgin would prefer to make Virgin 1 24 hours rather than the 12 that they have already if this were the case.
