Channel 4 News is very well respected in the industry, it is a much more in depth programme, with time for in-depth political interviews and analysis. It should stay as it is, C4's style isn't to do bulletin type news.

C4 News is by far the best news programme on terrestrial tv.
They used to do 'Channel4 News Summary' for a time, but they were axed after a while.
They should perhaps consider trashing the BB putting a decent news programme on in the morning, and one at lunchtime too.
Channel 4 was orignally concived as an extra ITV, to cater for the interests missed out on ITV.
Now it has evolved into a full company, and IMO should be regionalised, and whilst we do have Channel 4 North etc... the only regional thing on channel4 is the adverts!

But surely it would takes ages to gain an audience if C4 News was on in the mornings? BBC1 generally caters for the business people, GMTV generally caters for housewives, BBC2/C5 for young kids and C4 teenage/early adult. There most likely idea would be to install a respected and known brand....T4

Agreed Asa, I suggested the very same thing a while ago. Do you remember pre- Big Breakfast when C4 had Channel 4 Daily, it was awful, it tried to be a hybrid of everything. News, Business, Weather, Kids shows (Earl-E Bird !!!) and a 10 minute version of Countdown. Think Carol Barnes presented a lot of the time. Big Breakfast should be shelved it's tried to re-invent itself just too many times. The respected C4 brand for Breakfast is T4 Breakfast !!

T4 is awful, as link programmes go its awful, its not as succesful as they like to think either. Also C4 have said that if the Big Breakfast does get pulled they won't replace it with T4. The Big Breakfast is good and different, and is miles better than T4.

The Big Breakfast will never be the same unless it has a good chemistry between the presenters, Jonny and Denise were fantastic but the new presenters are awful, no real connection between them, Richard Bacon is still good however.

One thing I do like about channel4 is its top 100 programes like the one on this weekend with Ardelo`hanlon, Top 100 tv characters.

Breakfast has increased it's audience figures quite a lot since the re-launch, although PMTV is still winning overall.
It did take GMTV a long time to establish itself as TV-AM's replacement, but look at it now.
I think that perhaps if they got rid of the BB and put on perhaps a GMTV style show where they actually talked about news instead of 'topical features' it would do very well.
They could get Richard and Judy to anchor it!!

To be honest a breakfast show aimed at kids is a stupid idea. If you think about it, how many kids have got time in the morning to sit there and watch TV for ages?
Personally I think we should try and get rid of the BB.
Put something with news on instead and then keep that going for a while until it becomes an established brand, like GMTV.

I recall C4 Daily, with that really stupid title sequence of windows or something.
Carol did used to present on it, and the show was orignally called 'Different', it certainly was.
Bring Breakfast News back though.
The Beeb have tried to be like GMTV and Breakfast News in one programme and it hasn't really worked IMO.

I used to watch Channel 4 Daily before school. I can't remember much of it, but I can remember Dangermouse being on it at about 8.00. Fantastic stuff!

Anyway, I don't agree that The Big Breakfast should be replaced with T4 - why on Earth can't they just come up with something new? I read in a paper recently that they are having 'secret' talks with Cat Deeley and Dermot O'Leery for a new breakfast show. I don't know if it's true, but I'd certainly watch if Cat was presenting!

And as for Channel 4 News, it is very good, but unfortunately it clashes with Emmerdale and so I therefore never watch it. I would like to see more bulletins, however. Perhaps they could nick some of Channel 5's, because they have too many!
