I'll definitely try to catch an episode this week. I know the first showing is at 8.00pm but do you know when all the repeats are, Gavin? Is it only repeated once at 5.00pm the following day?

5pm on Watch or the 6pm repeat (of the repeat) on Watch+1. I think it might be on elsewhere as a later night repeat, but I'd need to check.

It's also on at 9am.

Thanks, Gavin and Ben. I'll try to catch a show in the near future. It's such a pain that Watch isn't available on Freeview as it means I have to watch it on the main TV which is usually clogged up by the folks with endless Coronation Streets and reality shows. I'm sure I'll catch it eventually!

I didn't think Richard and Judy was running in September 2001, thought it started on November Confused

No, it was November 2001 and Amanda Holden was their first guest (according to their last C4 show anyway).

After all, we ALL said they would crash and burn with a 5pm show on 4 and look how wrong we were.

Yes, but there's a fairly marked difference between a show available on a network accessible by 58million people when your only terrestrial opposition is kids TV, the news and Neighbours; and primetime on a newly launched/relaunched subscription channel.

I do apologise, you're quite correct. Funny how your memory plays tricks on you. I normally have a very good memory and could have sworn blind it was January 2002. Sorry!

Is it just me but is the simple reason people aren't watching is because they can't receive Watch.

If it was on Freeview it would have a good chance of surviving.

I personally think pay TV has had its day, unless you want on demand Films, Porn and Sport.

I've watched their show a few times since it started on Watch, and it absolutely pales in comparison to R&J and to This Morning.

The set is cheap and tacky, the camera work seems completely over-the-top, the music is awful and it just all seems very contrived.

It seems like they're just following a far too dull formula, and reminds me of the Davina chat show. They need to drag themselves back into topicality and human interest, rather than merely sycophancy with celebrities.

I hope that Watch apply for the new slot being available on Freeview. If they were available on Freeview, it would be an opportunity to make some tweaks and to win back their key audience - students.

The channel it's on means it's never going to rate highly, but this is poor even by pay-TV standards, especially in prime-time.

They've also not learnt from their mistakes at C4 - when the show relaunched they were desperate too differentiate it from what they did on This Morning - and it wasn't until those elements started creeping back in that the show started to rate better.

The excuse of watch not being available on freeview is b****cks. The highest rated show on Sky1 last week was Bones which got 886,000 viewers - bear in mind Sky1 isn't even available on Virgin let alone Freeview.! In comparison the most watched show on E4 (which is on freeview) Hollyoaks got 791,000.

OK, so R&J are never going to get as many viewers as they did on CH4 but pulling in a decent sized multi-channel audience -even without freeview- is not impossible. As someone else said they need to go back to the topical format - the chatshow really isn't for them. Infact interviewing is the thing they're worst at. Rolling Eyes It''' be interesting to see if they can turn it around like they did last time.
