It quite surprised me R&J ended up with the summer shift.
I think with both Paul and R&J after a while it gets too much, but they both have their appeal. I think it's often a case of watching R&J and wishing Paul O'Grady was on and vice versa.

When Paul O'Grady returns in April he will continue through until June and then R & J will take over until late September. So any of you who think Richard and Judy are getting less time than Paul, you will have three full months to see them on Channel4.

Some people have said that POG Show is "boring" and "needs re-inventing"-- how does anyone suggest how POG Show can be revitalised?
Personally I think it works fine as it is-- AFAIK it does OK in the ratings. The thing with the POG is you know what you going to get, and Paul's personality alone is enough to keep the show going.
POG may have a lot of the same celeb guests on; but most only appear once a series, and the fact he gets on with them so well makes good TV. Everyone has a good laugh! I suppose you might argue if it ain't broke, don't fix it

It's one thing knowing what you'll get, it's another knowing the format word for word.
Channel 4 could put out a week of repeats and nobody would notice

It's just a case of a few tweaks here and there - the format on the whole works.
It was a shame when they switched to C4 they basically bought the same set along, and although different, it's basically the same packaging.
A change of set and graphics is the best place to start - and then it's just a case of bringing in some new regular faces as with most of them the joke wears off after their first appearance.
A new competition is a must too IMO - it was never original to start with, and is pretty farcical now!

Doesn't surprise me, Richard's occasionally rude to staff on air..
"Can we get that? Can we do that?"
"We'll get her in next week...come on guys"
"What are you doing? Come on guys! Play the tape"
Grrr.
Isn't Paul ditching the organ game when he returns? Would be interesting to change the competition game to something else.

I have to say I find them boring compared to Paul's show. Paul has fun with the public, while R & J just talk down to the public. I feel Paul shows his true colours on tv while the R & J hide theirs. According to ex-work colleagues, R & J are very hard with their staff. Thats why so many left. This does not endear them to me one bit!

Least he's not as irritating at Richard though
Yes I think that's definitely true. He gets more overbearing, opinionated and bossy with every episode! Judy seems to be more passive in taking him to task these days-- although it is very amusing when he does
Although I have it on good authority that Judy does indeed "wear the trousers"
As for Paul's organ (!), Michael Parkinson ruined it when he pointed out that Paul doesn't actually play that organ. As if we hadn't guessed

I disagree. Paul's show is always the same. It got very boring, very quickly.

Remember their short-lived ITV primetime show with the oh-so-snappy title ( Tonight with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan ) which featured an oh-so-probing
interview with OJ Simpson?
Living proof that they are not suited to a show that has a studio audience. It was dire.

Richard abd Judy could always be the guest presenters of the POG Show (when he is ill/off) if the
R&J Show
is scrapped

It's well-known that Paul did an untransmitted pilot episode of
The Generation Game
but pulled out of doing a series.
Since then, his teatime show has started turning into the Gen Game !
Paul attempting to do thinks like, say, breakdance (or whatever) is pure Larry Grayson era Gen Game stuff. And the gunging at the end of his most recent run was very like the Jim Davisdon Gen Game era.
Originality, anyone?
