What has happened to the Mel and Sue partnership? They worked well together then they split up and went their seperate ways, Sue went on CBB2, Mel on The Games etc. Have they fallen out?
No, they started to do their own thing more when Mel took time out to have babies. (IIRC they had to cancel their tour because she became pregnant the second time)
I've just watched it in Norn Irn - courtesy of Sky, on which ITV London is available. I enjoyed it... then I do have a minor crush on Richard Hammond...
<shrugs>
The ending was a bit false and something didn't go right with the whole akido thing. The bloke locked in the cage was rubbish and predictable.
Apart from that, not a bad show.
I noticed that, something which proved to your average viewer that the segment at the end of he show is completely staged - Richard was turning around for the purpose of 'putting on his robe', followed by the Aikido champion coming down, Richard turning round, seeing the back of the aikido's jumper which said "GB AIKIDO", and still acting clueless, as if he was an ordinary audience member.
I must say that it feels a bit like ITV's answer to Watchdog - but alot cheaper.
Some of the segments just seemed to be added on and the show lacked a bit of consistancy. The funniest parts (no pun intended ) were the vibrating chairs and Mel's one-liners. Without Mel the show would be toss.
why dont utv in Northern Ireland get any 5 0' Clock programmes like Paul O' Grady, Des And Mel, And Rich Ham's 5 O' Clock Show
UTV appear to have been put off for life thanks to the mega flop known as the
24 Hour Quiz
, this was a 60 minute show on at ITV1 at 5pm, UTV decided to take it, so they had to move the 5.30pm-6pm bit of UTV Live to the middle of the afternoon, the viewers weren't pleased, neither were UTV, so they took the decision of dropping the programme (well the 5pm one) before ITV did.
