That tweet sums up why people hate Dan Wootton. Man fighting for live, but in the opinion of some third rate hack he'll be fine, but follow the clickbait anyway.

Obviously hopefully he does pull through. Massive respect for how he turned his career around.

Yes, apologies that was the 'best' source when posted. BBC News have now got the story which confirms that initially he was well enough to post the photograph in the hospital that is circulating around but since then his condition has worsened.

Awful news to hear, especially someone who was I have grown up with on TV through blue peter & the big breakfast and enjoyed listening to on the radio and moments where he's covered this morning and the wright stuff.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for him.

My thoughts are very much with him today. When I set up the Big Breakfast fansite "Brekkie.com" he was the first to give me an interview, for which I was very grateful. A very nice man.

He appears to be improving according to his family.

Here's hoping we see an article titled "How the NHS saved my Bacon" in the next few days.

Very good news from the man himself:

Jeffmister, paul_hadley and DE88 gave kudos

He seems to have deleted those two tweets for some reason.

I remember when he seemed surprised that Debbie Harry wasn’t past it at just the age of 53 during a TOTP performance, also giving away a lady’s age on national TV is not a nice thing to do.

So a man is/was on his death bed and you’re bringing up a very boring trivial and obscure throwaway comment from about 20 years ago which has nothing to do with the current discussion.

1) *that’s* the hill you’re willing to die on?
2) shelve your benevolent sexism
