Crikey, not something you would expect to read especially at the age of 42. Hoping he pulls through especially based on the terrible run of deaths this year so far Sad

Jesus Christ, Richard is a very likeable chap and this is terrible

I miss his shows on 5 Live, he is very good on radio but has only done the occasional fill in on Radio 2 since he left for LA. He became quite a reliable 'go to' at the BBC, doing some high profile gigs, surprising after the earlier parts of his career.

Let's hope he's on the mend

There goes the second series of 19 Keys.

I think I was the only person who liked that show. Though even Richard said he didn't understand the rules, it was so complicated

I'm hoping like Charlie Webster, who was also in a medically induced coma that this is to help his recovery.

He’s a genuinely intelligent broadcaster. I think his downfall helped in many ways, it gives him some broadcasting street cred which I don’t think any other Blue Peter has had.

Spookily the celebrity special of 19 Keys featured Jeremy Beadle who also developed pneumonia quite young (59) and sadly passed away from it a few days later.

That tweet sums up why people hate Dan Wootton. Man fighting for live, but in the opinion of some third rate hack he'll be fine, but follow the clickbait anyway.

Obviously hopefully he does pull through. Massive respect for how he turned his career around.

No. I loved that show as well. Great format, wrong channel.
5 were eating entertainment formats at the time, and scheduling it up against soaps, did not help one bit.

My favorite review of his presenting style was that everything he said seemed so ironic or sarcastic that they came out of his mouth 'in heavy inverted commas'

Get yourself a speedy recovery, Rich.

Very intelligent, but with occasional Partridge moments. He's a younger, trendier Richard Madley
