It's pretty rough isn't it. You'd think they'd have made some allowance for longer programme titles. Branding people can get terriby uptight about compressing prescribed fonts, but there are times when you have to. To me though, that font size just looks a couple of points too big. The ability to add a second line of text would help too.

The screen judder when the graphics are switched into circuit is still there.

Well i saw 1 on BBC 2 last night after Top Gear and that did have a second line of text. I still think the best option is to go down the american route and have credits across the bottom and trailers across the top, it looks far slicker and as itv show with there soaps it can still be read.

POV mentioned it yesterday, used a still example that looked suspciously like a mock from this forum (it had EastEnders credits with "Doctor Who next" at the top so was definitely not a broadcast example!).

POV will also have the person behind it on the show this Sunday. So any complaints or criticism email them and they will asked on next week's show.

... where as usual they'll be ignored and we'll be told how popular they are with viewers etc. etc. etc.

It's a shame that these feedback specials that they seem to be doing a lot of can't take a leaf out of the TV Show's book, a live BBC feedback show would be very interesting, though I doubt that they can squeeze it into 10 minutes.

Quite why Points of View is still called that when it's effectively full of promotions, sneak previews and "let's see that clip again" and only about half a dozen comments picked at random off the board is beyond me.

Realistically in this day and age, as of March 2008 over 87% of us have access to multi-channel TV in one form or another, at minimum a Now & Next EPG on all platforms. 68% of the UK population has access to the Internet as of June 30th, 2008 for online TV guides or BBC iPlayer or whatever. Pretty much everybody can get access to a newspaper in one form or another, if it's somebody else's copy or a freebie Metro off the bus. They've all got TV guides in them too. Traditional Teletext has been available on most TVs as standard made in the last fifteen years or so. A TV guide is on them too. Saturday and Sunday papers contain listings for the week ahead on the main channels.

So in short - who needs ECPs? If you miss it, watch it online, rent it or wait for the inevitable repeat.

I'm impressed, thanks to a badly placed Radio 1 logo, they managed to make the ECPs look worse! I didn't know that was possible really.

Who'd ever think BBC Four would cross-promote BBC Radio 1? The power of advertising, eh?

Haha, it was an odd one. Understandable, with the Brooker link, but there we go. Next time, BBC Parliament promoting 1xtra.

I think it's because Charlie was on Nihal's show tonight. I could have misheard... I was too busy looking through the TV Guide as to what was on next!

And that gradient title bar is just tacky on all platforms. The link or day and time should be in another sub-colour or fill layer.

They seem to have fixed the "juddery" switch when it shrinks down the credits now.

Well at least a couple I saw yesterday weren't juddery anyway.

There was a distinct judder on the ECP on Screenwipe the other night. They'd be much better off insisting on static caption style credits (like ITV) rather than having them scrolling. The couple of frames jump back would then be much less noticeable, if discernable at all.
