The programme was ploddingly slow; it took phrases wholesale from The Chase; it featured CJ de Mooi making strange faces when he couldn't work out rather obvious questions; it featured a team of contestants that would not be good enough for Eggheads: Normal Edition; and it relegated potentially the most interesting part (the Egghead writing the questions) to a silly forfeit that meant almost certain failure for the contestant due to the increased difficulty of the questions (except with a question in a subject he had no idea about/no interest in, which was far too easy).
The set was plain and sloppy looking, and the desk looked like it was made on the cheap (and was messy at the end due to the addition of another LED cluster for the final, with rather obvious edges). The music was an indistinguishable morass of generic sounds, and the much-hyped klaxon was nothing of the sort.
The worst thing is that there are 30 episodes of it. This certainly does not deserve a recommission.

One of the contestants, 'Stephen', was even a previous contestant on The Chase,
The show itself felt very flat, and really would have benefited from some atmosphere in the form of an audience or some music beds, which there were very few of when they made sense to appear.

You do realise that happens all the time in gameshows?

Isn't that if he buzzes in and they've got it right in the first place?
Don't the contestants get £100 if that happens?
