I have to say I didn't see the Queen's Speech this Christmas, and so missed seeing the ITN production slide on BBC One. But just now I happened to be watching Time Watch, and at the end I was quite shocked to see the huge ITN logo saying 'an ITN production for the BBC' Is this usually the case? Maybe this is why ITV have removed the ITN branding from their News...

I'm guessing they do it on ITN for BBC programmes. I've never seen it.

i saw it - i think it said an itn factual production - all black background.

just goes to show in areas where itv execs have no influence (ch5 news, ch4 news etc) itn is still a quality producer... as with another itn factual production, ' the falklands' on channel 5

Why is it such a big drama to see an ITN logo on the BBC? ITN is an independent television company producing news and current affairs programmes for television networks across Europe.

Just because you lot seem to think that ITN is an ITV1 region, that it's a big taboo to see the ITN logo on the Beeb.

Who knows, one day when the British public get fed up with the bias way in whcih the BBC reports news events, ITN could be producing the news on the BBC!

Examples? (Not that I don't believe you, I think all media is biased in some way no matter how slight, but you need evidence to back it up.)

A very recent example is the prisoners being held in Cuba. The BBC seem to be very worried about the conditions of these people, these people who helped plot the biggest terrorist atrocity in the history of the world, these people who lived in caves in some cases, their own excrement.

Then the BBC swans over to America, pretending that it represents itself as the views of the British people, then hounding senior politicians in Washington about the humane conditions of the prisoners, and the apparent 3 British citizens being held there.

In my opinion Mr Bush should have tied these cave dwelling peices of scum to an electric fence, and watch them fry!

Ah - a libertarian type of bias. Well, good for the BBC then, in that case.

The TV companies, including the BBC, have quotas on how much independent television producerions have to be shown. This is why quite a few companies production captions can be seen. I f you ever see the end of university challenge, you will see that it is actually a granada production. The BBC actually show a number of indepentend productions, and loads of co-productions

Edit: But i don't think you will ever see ITN producing news for the Beeb, somehow!

I don't see why ITN have their news branded as ITV News now, they make it look like they are part of ITV & only ITV!

Just the same reason why it is 'Channel 4 News' and '5 News'

You don't see ITN logos all over these bulletins, so why should ITV News be any different?
