A Return to form for Channel TV

Yesterday i was moaning at how Grampian, Scottish TV and UTV were using their own idents, and not giving a damn about ITV1, yet channel were quite happy with ITV1, and just didn't care.

Well now i shall eat my words because today, i have seen no ITV1 Idents at all, only Channel TV idents. Not even a slight showing of an ITV1 logo. Even before the HELLS KITCHEN we had channel Idents.

What's even better is, although they still use the ITV1 music, the ident is COMPLETLY different. Ok its a remake of an old ident, but it looks nothing like the crappy generic ITV1 idents, hoorah!

Well done Channel, i'm proud of you

Just out of curiosity, what's the new ident like? Does it look a lot like an older one? (don't tell me it's a return for the hearts ) Is anyone able to post screencaps or the full idents in Real Audio?

It's good news if Channel has decided to go against the tide and reassert their independence. Given the mess the idents have caused in the SMG area, it's probably wise that both they and UTV have decided to go down different roads, even if the UTV ones are terrible. At least they're not showing Phil Mitchell before a programme, a handy reminder to turn over to BBC1 for Eastenders....

It is an updated hearts ident, but they have been clever to take out the hearts background (finally) and put the sort of generic ITV blue-ish colour. I've got a recording of it, i shall capture it at some point tonight.
