An interesting story of mine recently is the decline of CITV. Maybe not of yours, but anyway heres how I would do so.
I would revamp the channels continuity completely and bring in a team of 2 or 3 presenters who would be live on the CITV Channel every weekday from 3 to the channels close down at 6pm. I would have it studio based and the hours that its not live would have recorded in-vision announcments. This is a small change but would make a huge diffrence to the channels feel, mascots. I would have a mascot, I feel they really make the viewer connected to the channel. Less imports. More homegrown ITV shows maybe? I think ITV should reopen their kids production unit, many programmes and dramas should be given a prime slot on the channel and leave some space for the imports which I understand are bringing some back to watch again. Another thing, the 'Old Skool' weekend worked well, and I think it should be an event that airs on CITV every so often and every Sunday afternoon on ITV3, aired under the CITV brand. I think this would help make the CITV brand a lot stronger and maybe the elderly who enjoy watching it on ITV3 will maybe put CITV on for their grandchildren to enjoy aswell.
These are my thoughts. Post yours down below. I hope im not being a nuisance with this thread aswell.

I do agree the channel should have MORE homegrown content, like live action, Cartoons, But with the current ratings it wont be that cost effective to spend money on LIVE CA.
Well, as much as the concept for the 'CITV Tower' was bad, green-screen sets must not be that much?
Why not have old school slots every weekend? Use some viewer feedback (Twitter for the adults) on screen. More home grown shows premiered on CITV and then broadcast on weekend afternoons on ITV one would be good.

By more homegrown content I mean MPAA, more ITV 'recent archive' stuff like Finders Keepers. But aswell being open to new formats and shows.

I mean that aswell, CITV could have a new series of How 3 ? Cartoons cant be forgotten about. All those classics like Dangermouse etc. New formats do pop up, Sooty has come back and its actually decent
I think people are forgetting that CITV has to target the kids of today - and doesn't have the budget of yesteryear.
It is probably in better health than we all realise but more original content and having the content to keep hold of viewers until they're that little bit older is what they need to do. Live presentation won't make any difference if the programmes aren't there so that wouldn't be a priority at all for me - although adding a live show to the schedules might be an idea. Really though I think the 5pm hour is where they need to focus their efforts and put all new content that isn't aimed at pre-school kids. It would be nice now to see them expand their hours and finish at 7pm or 8pm, something they could surely do now they time share with The Zone.
It won't happen but I really do think ITV(1) could benefit from a new Saturday morning show - with no competition in the genre and a young adult audience also traditionally a big part of the viewing audience for Saturday kids shows I really do think it could work for them commercially too - simulcast on CITV and ITV. It's certainly got to be worth giving something a trial 10-week run or something, even if it's just in a 60-90 minute slot.

Does anyone know what the current budget of CITV is, that is if there is one?

During 2006 it was at £30M but with even more cut back ets I say less than that, even with the budget increase since 2009.

I do sound silly asking, but what will that be spent on? The staff, production companies who produce the shows for them. I wonder if that budget will ever increase.
I've not bothered reading this thread, other than a few lines. Because it's quite clear it's a fantasy thread.
Maybe it is but if your not interested don't comment. This thread is partly disscusion and partly about restoring CITV. If you don't like it, don't comment.

Green screen studios and Twitter comments don't make good television, chances are it would be the opposite. Would you watch something like you describe?
Would the recent 'Old Skool Weekend' have been better, just as good or worse with Twitter comments on the screen?
