Last time I watched Reporting Scotland it was 4:3 cropped to 14:9 Pillarbox. Today I caught the 1520 on Sky Digital and it seemed to be in full widescreen.
The newsroom camera and some of the VTs were full 16:9 - no black bars either side. Some of the VTs were 14:9 pillarbox, some of them were 4:3 pillarbox (which must have looked horrible on 14:9 letterbox analogue)
I also noticed that the astons cut on and off, rather than mixing.
Wales Today has been widescreen since BBC News went widescreen, and I saw that Newsline was widescreen studio with 4:3 (14:9 Pillarbox) VT in when the Six moved to BBC Two during Wimbledon. (The 1520 came from the Newsroom with a sign language interpreter, and was 14:9 pillarbox - but that might be because the camera is 4:3)
Does this mean that all the National news bulletins are now widescreen?
