Why did they axe that on such a cliffhanger? It never made sense as I thought it still had good ratings.

They ended on a cliffhanger on the previous series to give them a better chance of being recommisioned for a fourth - and it worked. However the fourth series had bad ratings which meant the final 3 episodes were shown a year later in a teatime/early evening slot. The cliffhanger was never explained because the BBC didn't want it anymore. Sad really, would have been nice to have an explanation to what happened.

Little interesting fact ; BBC South Today's Weather forecaster, Alina Jenkins, starred in one episode.

I missed the final three Bugs episdoes when it was screened on BBC 1 so was overjoyed at the recent DVD release. Was shocked to see the cliffhanger. Part of me wished I'd not watched it and just lived in ignorant bliss! You'd think with the website being advertised on all the bugs DVDs Carnivale would do the decent thing and update it - perhaps with a synopsis or how the cliffhanger would have been resolved.
