What ever happned to that Dan Corbett?? He used to present the weather on News 24. He certainly was the most intersting weather presenter the BBC has ever had!!!!

I thought he was the best weather presenter there had ever been! He was excellent. I remember his last ever weather broadcast, and it was John Territ, the business reporter said that he was moving to Granada, what to do I don't know.

Remember how he always used to say 'that's the weather, for now' well in his last broadcast he said 'that's the weather, forever'. It was such a shame to lose such a good weather presenter, he was great!

Dan Dan the Weather man! He left the BBC Weather Centre to return to the US (where he was previously a weather forecast in Waco, Texas) with his wife and child(ren?)

John Territ's comment before his last weather forecast was a joke - 'He's going to work for Granada... No not the TV station, the TV rental shop in the High St.' was the rough gist.

Sad that he left - he was a popular forecaster with the News 24 team, and is missed. Anyone remember he always used to end his forecasts with 'That's the weather.... For now' - he ended his last one with 'That's the weather.... For ever'...

The name Dan Corbet does ring a bell but I cannot visualise what he looks like right now.

BTW buzz, what was interesting about him?

Though Dan was English/British by birth (born in Essex ISTR) I think he moved to the US when he was quite young, and he certainly started his career forecasting there.

He had kept his English accent (with a slight midlantic tone creeping in now and again) and used lots of 'British' sayings in his forecasts on N24.

'Might rain, perhaps you should take a brollie with you just in case'
'The tippy, tippy tops of the hills'
'Too warm for a jersey, maybe a cardigan'

He used to speak quite quickly - and was a bit different to the other weather presenters in style and tone. Good forecaster, and entertaining too... Certainly caused the gallery to collapse into laughter on a number of occasions with his off-the-wall phrases...

Dan was great because he put his own wacky personality into the weather. Too many forecasters just stick to the script, don't devitate, it's weather by numbers and really dull.

Although not the biggest fan of the licence fee, I used to be able to cope with it by thinking that my licence fee was paying towards Dan's salary.

'And thats your lot (knod to camera) for now'

Dan corbett was with news 24 from the very beginning. He was always lively and made the weather very entertaining to watch. He did start presenting on BBC One and Two as well. Its a shame he has gone. Anyone know where Vicky Graham has gone?

I think Dan also did stints on BBC Breakfast News as well as normal BBC Weather slots and News 24.

He was the most entertaining weather bod the BBC has had - I hope he is still entertaining people somewhere!

Does anyone have any screen-grabs etc.
