the whole film section of the channel 4 site has now adopted a film4 look now. gone is the black white and red, and in comes red and white and grey/brown.

Extensive use of the Helvetica (i believe) font, only the Movie Rush section uses the channel 4 font now. On the whole, a very stylish and modern make over...

Gotta agree about the website, it looks brilliant. I think my biggest fear with the revamp of the channel was the possibility of it losing its intelligence and stylishness (is that a word?), which wasn't exactly helped with the adverts (Judi Dench dressed as a lobster was it?). Thankfully, this doesn't seem to be the case. I think the channel is showing all the signs of remaining as excellent as before.

As long as they still air Studio Guibli films, I could care less.

And those adverts of this island earth are mared by the fact that my first (and severl further) encounters with that film are based on the Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie.

Now that's something 4 could do to fill out space, get MST3K and air that on fridays or something, still an inteligent edge about it.

Well, if they can show the exciting action of housemates sleaping in the mornings, they can air a hour 30 show, that's the one and only truth.

I think the adverts are utterly brilliant.

If it was Chantelle or Kerri Catona in the lobster suit I think you might have a point. But to me, the ads are saying that Britain's most highly respected actors and actresses believe in the importance of Film4 so much so that they'll do anything to promote it - even if it involves dressing up as a lobster.

You'd think they'd have channel4.com/film4 working now - I assume filmfour.com will go the same way as e4.com

An animated version of the Film4 is now online... it appears as a splash flash animation when you visit channel4.com, or can be seen here on the screen of the Archos DVR...

Yes, like most other free-to-air channels the new Film4 channel will have advertising breaks. ......."

Just wondering if anyone here ITK could speculate.......

What will the Film4 break pattern look like?

Much thanks if anyone can answer.

Ooh - I liked that promo slide on C4 just now!

I presume that it has been mentioned (appologies if it has) that Film 4 will also be available on Freesat...presumably C4 avoided the issues with Sky that they had with the launch of More4, what with it not being on Freesat...so is there any chance that E4/More 4 will be put on the Freesat service?

Yes it will be on Freesat.

Reason: Film Four was a stand-alone, subscription channel costing £7.99. It was not part of any Sky package ala E4/More4 so its transition from premium channel to FTA channel is totally independent of Sky packages.

I think C4 were well and truly done by the More4 situation and it's a shame OFCOM didn't intervene and put Sky in their place.

They also get done a bit with E4 now as it's still part of subscription packages, but since it's been on Freeview C4 have not received any subcription revenue!

P.S. Film4 break bumpers have been used on C4 tonight (red background, white logo forming up like it did on the website), along with an ECP (red background, with a white line under the picture).

Also, only caught a brief bit of Film4's 50 Films to see before you Die when they were talking about Fight Club having one of the best twists ever to a movie - before proceeding to reveal it!

I saw the FILM4 breakbumber on in a break of Big Brother.
