Relaunched "Film4" debuts 23rd July

I think it probably look better without the vertical line on the left, so it's just two crossed lines and the "FILM" bit (perhaps slanted and rising in the shape of a 4)

Needs to look less like a swatzika, dood.

Based on Brekkie Boy 's idea heres a quick mock of what I think the new film four logo should go along the lines (geddit) of!

That's really good! I'd much prefer that as the new Film4 logo (with the word 'film' rotated to sit comfortably, of course).

Well, that's not what I meant at all!

After seeing the promo, I think that new logo doesn't look too bad on screen.

And after seeing the promo, it's obvious the new logo was an after thought!

I think they were filmed ages ago though - remember seeing the pics of Ewan McGregor a couple of months ago.

...I only said that because I thought that it might be a special version of the channel with selected movies etc...

And it still looks crap!

Here's how i think it'll animate into a trailer - the lines will extend down and right, with the logo sliding gently up to the top left corner of the screen. Next, a 16:9 box will expand in an opposite direction perhaps with a film leader effect on (the 3, 2, 1 clock?) whilst expanding.

Finally the title of the film will fade gently in, accompanied by the time of the screening.

I think it'll be much bolder than that with the lines playing a crucial part in the presentation.


I wonder if they'll use the basic layout as used by C4/More4 (Info on left, logo on right), or go for something different like E4 (though E4 could easily standardise their trailers if they wanted too!)


I imagine they'll also have their own version of the generic menu styles too!
