I like Anglia Weather, AirWatch is a nice little niche we don't get in London (and we should really considering the air's more polluted here). Their music is nice and calming like a weather programme's music should be - that guitar riff gets me everytime! Their graphics are very 'sunny' bright whilst not being vulgar. I admit I preferred the days of Richard Bacon but compared to what we get in London Becky Jago is fantastic!

Is LWT the only region to do the local weather in widescreen?

The HTV Wales/West weather maps are virtually identical to Carltons but with the HTV Logo and not that bloody star!

Hardly surprising, as everthing else on HTV has been 'Carltonised' almost as much as possible (the only stage of change left is to rename the station and put the star * on things like the weather, coming-up-next slides etc etc)

I do like Central Weather very much. Again, it only the star * that riuns it. At weekends when you get a regional weather bulletin that isn't preceeded by regional news (after the late night ITV News and Weather) there is just one version of Central Weather shared between all three sub-regions.

The map shows the WHOLE Carlton Central region, with Birmingham, Nottingham and Oxford (rather than Abingdon - why?) all labelled.

Although the West-only version of the map only labells Birmingham, I believe that the East-only and South-only versions have several places marked (?).

Yes, the West region has Birmingham labelled. The East region label Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Peterborough. Other than Peterborough in East Anglia, the East miss out their overlap cities of Coventry and Lincoln and their biggest overlap town Northampton.
The West do not label other places because

(i) there would be no room without moving symbols etc.

(ii) there is no official end to the west region which Carlton can identify, as the area marked on the map is only a rough idea of how the Central West region looks.

(iii) and Carlton would say that CN West is Birmingham's programme anyway (which it ultimately is).

www.carlton.com/weather/central to see the region as it is shown on short daytime weather bulletins and at weekend tea-time and late night.

Most of you are saying that you would like Central Weather if it wasn't for the star* branding. HTV is identical, even with the sundial ident, but has been using the weather graphics long before the Carlton takeover.

And there's no Carlton branding!

Westcountry's looks OK, I notice it's not like the Central/ HTV ones! I like the colour scheme too.

YTV's background is the same as on the idents, which can be a big irritant!

Westcountry Weather is not too bad. Anglia is quite similar in terms of colour.

I think it's a shame that Carlton London Weather use the network graphics. Could do with their own identity in London.

Granada weather's new graphics are good, much better than the last lot, it does need an invision presenter. The titles are actually better with the sponser as the music on the generic titles is dodgy and the pictures of the region are out of date.
