I remember Central Made "Gas Street" no idea what that was:

STV made this " Live At One Thirty"
http://www.youtube.com/show/liveatonethirty

Which run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with 104th Episodes From 6th Oct 1986 - 26 Jun 1987
it seem many episode where not kept, it seems it never did come back for 2nd series.

last episode there talk to Granada weather man Wink

I remember one edition of Live at one thirty was mainly devoted to a big fire that was taking place in Glasgow City Centre at the time. Basically, this was in the days before 24 hour news channels, the internet etc, and so it made sense for STV to use Live at one thirty to provide more news on this breaking story.

Come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen a regional programme being credited as an ITV Studios production, I think the ones I've seen have just had a plain ITV logo.

Would this be the rather curious 'A Production for ITV1' endcap?

Oh yeah that's it!

A lunchtime entertainment show, I believe, presented by Vince 'Edelweiss' Hill & Suzi 'Devilgate Drive/Can The Can' Quatro. (The 'songs' being their most popular hits!)

Someone can correct me on this, but as the show was named after 'Gas Street Canal Basin'(Some years before Central moved there themselves!), I believe the plan was to have some performances outside on Gas Street itself, but they were scuppered by local canal regulations preventing that sort of thing! (Vaguely remember reading something about it!)

I think you'll find "He's a Sports PA" was more popular (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88hsBHuw5yc)

That's made me think -- do the English ITV regions even have their half-hour-a-month any more? It's been a while since I've seen Around The House (spit; it's Point of Order, damn YTV rebranding) up here.

Yes they do - next one is tomorrow night. Think it works out as more than one a month sometimes as they coincide it with Westminster sitting and it works out as 12 a year - they were on two weeks in a row just after the local elections in May.

Gas Street itself is the other side of the canal and is where the current studios are. Gas Street Basin is across Bridge Street from their old studios. This photo shows the basin with the derelict studios in the background:

The new ones are not far behind where this photo was taken from

I have vague memories of Carlton also making a regional afternoon debate/talk show, a bit like Trisha. And, as already mentioned, there was London Bridge.

There was a magazine show called 'After Five' with Caron Keating.

There was a magazine show called 'After Five' with Caron Keating.

Caron Keating and Fern Britton presented After Five, it was essentially the non-news bits of London Tonight but geared more towards a daytime audience.

Carlton (and LWT) promised an hour long regional news programme so the original London Tonight was on from 6-7. However they soon realised what Thames had years earlier - that 6pm is too early for London regional news. Therefore they moved Home & Away back to 6 and split London Tonight into two parts, one at 6:30 and the other at 5:10

Saying that a number of other companies moved the news to 6.30 aswell least Scotland today, Central news, HTV, Anglia News and North tonight..

Do it Herself definitely rings a bell with me - was it perhaps repeated on Channel 4?
