Sad news of an ITV pioneer and continuity legend.
I can't find any other source other than Greg, but as a former colleague I'm sure he will have made sure this is, sadly, correct before posting it.

Sad news indeed. Redvers had a very distinctive voice, a classic announcer in many ways. He'd worked for Rediffusion too back in the day:
The fascinating thing about this clip is that they appeared to have coverage of Wimbledon that year. Was this a London only thing? I can find nothing on the Internet to suggest anything other than the BBC having broadcast rights in the uk since 1937. '67 was the first year the championships were shown in colour, on BBC 2 (then the only colour channel in the uk).
