Looks like the figures are broadly very similar for Children in Need 2014. They got 8.3m and 35.9% share. So pretty close to identical, CiN had a slightly higher volume but a slightly lower share, but only a small difference.

The demos would be interesting to see - I'd imagine Comic Relief does better with the 16-34 audience and 18-49, while Children in Need probably appeals more to an older audience.

Yes - I wouldn't be surprised were that to be the case. However both shows had very healthy ratings for a 3 hour show on a Friday night.
