I think it's a good format, but not sure I will be watching all week. Maybe would have suited a 2/3 weeks of Saturday slots better?

As much as I'm curious to see Ant n Dec's latest TV vehicle (not very) it clashes with The Doctor on t' other side!

Your profile doesn't state you own a video recorder of any kind (whether it be a VCR or a DVR!), I would suggest to you to get one!

Video recorders of any type, be they VCRs or PVRs, are an anachronistic concept to me these days. I usually download
or stream from the internet any TV shows I miss. No need for any proprietary devices made specifically for recording.

What a boring Simon Cowell-by-numbers programme this way. It looked just the same as all his other programmes. This was just Fluke with more money involved. What part did Simon Cowell supposedly invent?

Saw 15 minutes of it, after Dr Who, and will never watch it again.

Completely dire gameshow. Bring back You Bet! - far more exciting and better to watch.

So howcome no further series' of The Whole 19 Yards or Pokerface, or Beat The Star?

Ha!

There was nothing within the programme that hadn't been done before.

The worst part was the five minute introductions to the final 10 contestants which was pointless
as they're only going to be there for one night.

Pokerface personally, did get dropped sooner than it should have done and wasn't
too bad as series.

Oh. You see I'd rather have my shows instantly available to watch on my HD 1080i TV on my couch, rather sitting in front of a computer screen. Wink

I would if they offered the same sound and picture quality as live viewing (and thus the quality you get from a decent PVR) Until streaming/download solutions offer the same quality as PVRs I'll be giving them a miss (apart from letting me watch something I forget to set a recording for).

Even iPlayer HD is only 720/25p (with no 50Hz motion) at around 3.2Mbs with 2.0 sound. My PVR will give me 1080/50i with full 50Hz motion and 5.1 sound at 8Mbs+.

Don't need a proprietary device, I can use my PC with just a dual-DVB-S2 tuner card and Windows Media Center.

Seeing someone win a million seemed such an anti-climax. The pain of losing (what they never had!) makes much better TV!

You know it IS possible to connect computers directly to most modern flat screen HD TVs these days didn't you?

I have a dual core media centre PC connected to a Sony 32inch HD1080 TV in the lounge downstairs. Perfect for
watching downloaded or streamed content from online sources such as BBC iPlayer (or torrents if not available
from official sources). I can also hook up my main quad core PC to the Samsung 22inch HD1080 TV upstairs,
as well as using the BBC iPlayer app (part of Humax TV Portal) on my Humax Freeview HD box.

As for my original comment about Red Or Black clashing with Doctor Who ... out of an entire week TV schedule
across numerous TV channels, that is one program I'll actually make a point to watch when it's first broadcast.

The first show was appalling but I thought the second show was alright. It won't be appointment viewing but I'll watch it if there is nothing else on. The main problem in the first show is the lack of connection with contestants. Noone cares whether 7,000 people choose red or black. They could skip over that in 5 minutes and go straight into the final 8 and whittle them down over an hour. It would be a much better and more structured show. Separate results show is just silly.

XFUK, BGT and ROB all seem to have cornered the market on black flooring with linear LED's

I'm guessing ROB came from Fountain?
