Yeah so what. The fact that there is this programme doesn't mean that there is or isn't going to be a Record of the Year
Time will tell I suppose....

Are you clued up on Corrie and an Xpert on The X Factor ? Do you not miss a single minute of Midsomer Murders?
Then you could be just the person we're looking for.
ITV are looking for the best telly heads to take part in this huge entertainment quiz featuring the best and the worst of the television of 2006. The best 50 brains will battle it out live in December for the coveted title of Viewer of the Year .
So if you know your Dingles from your Duckworths, what are you waiting for? Apply right now and give yourself a chance of winning the biggest TV quiz of the year.

Not really, the first isn't being made by the same company as Record was anyway. Saying that, Record isn't happening so doesn't really matter.

They might - or they might not. But it'd be weird having both
Viewer of the Year and Record of the Year

How very dare you? What are you insinuating?
Anyway, no doubt this Viewer of the Year thing will be very Corrie based - what else have they got.

The initial selection will take place on Saturday November 25, 2006 and the final will take place on Saturday December 9, 2006.

It doesn't seem to be happening as there is no selection show on the 25th.
I'm not surprised. It didn't exactly do very well in the ratings in recent years, usually beaten by BBC One.
I suspect this Viewer of the Year will go out a week after The X Factor final, putting it against the SCD final.

I'm in the same opionion of CDUKJunkie in that there is no edition this year - seems to typify ITV a little as there is no music show on the channel anymore - and if anyone states The X-Factor well that programme is a showcase for the judges rather than the so-called wannabe hopefuls and also don't forget even Stars In Their Eyes has been axed!!!!
