I thought it was losing it's specialness due to the fact Westlife were winning it year after year after year, it also didn't help last year when it was sandwiched with The X Factor with the latter being more popular IIRC.
Did they go round the Regions last year or was it different, I can't remember.

I wonder why they arent doing it this year? Usually they would jump at the chance to make money from people voting.

Good news for Westlife fans, then - especially since they have just clocked up yet another number 1 just weeks before the contest starts.
Why don't they just retitle it Westlife Win Again??
Honestly, Westlife could put out a recording of them farting and it would still reach number 1 - and win Record of the Year.

As far as I've heard, Record of the Year is happening - I saw a recruitment advert for production crew a few weeks ago. Contracts were only for a couple of weeks though...

Yeah they did go around the regions IIRC however they have put some regions together (e.g. Westcountry and Wales, Granada and Yorkshire) so there arent as many.

They technically didn't as all of the presenters were using the same studio IIRC.

Well there has been some great songs out this year, i guess it depends on who votes. There is nothing wrong with a bit of Westlife, 14 Number ones - the kings of love songs
. Ok, so they dont play instruments - doesnt make them any less worthy then the curly whirly "i play instruments so i am better" type bands.
For me, the record of the year is "Promiscious Girl" by Nelly Furtado.

Yeah so what. The fact that there is this programme doesn't mean that there is or isn't going to be a Record of the Year
